South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce has announced the full line-up for its conference focusing on the regeneration and future growth of Crewe and wider area on April 29.

The Future of Crewe – Unlocking Crewe and South Cheshire’s Potential, taking place at Crewe Hall, will connect business owners with decision-makers shaping the region while providing an insight into the opportunities and challenges ahead for South Cheshire.

Featuring keynote speaker Mark Edwards, Director of regeneration specialists Capital & Centric, alongside others drawn from British Chambers of Commerce, Cheshire East Council, Mid Cheshire Hospitals Trust and Crewe UK Town of Culture Bid, the conference combines strategic insight with ground-level perspective.

Mr Edwards will speak on the regeneration of towns and cities – and what makes projects successful.

An audience of senior leaders, business owners, investors, policy makers and economic development stakeholders from across Cheshire are already confirmed.

Spaces still remain for those who would like to attend and take part in the debate.

Other speakers include Graham McKnight, Lyceum Theatre director and Chair of Crewe’s bid for UK Town of Culture and Russ Favager and Chris Knights of Mid Cheshire Hospitals Trust with an update on the £1.5bn new Leighton Hospital development.

Joining them will be Jonny Haseldine, Head of Corporate Governance & Business Environment Policy at the British Chambers, talking about the national business picture, Cheshire East Council deputy leader Michael Gorman on Crewe 360, Adam Sullivan CEO, Baywater Healthcare and Sally Hepton Director of Government Relations & CSR, Bentley Motors.

The conference gets underway at 9am with an opening address from Chamber Chief Executive Paul Colman who will also be on the business panel discussion alongside Adam Sullivan and Sally Hepton. He said:

“For the first time there will be a dedicated space to talk about the regeneration of Crewe and South Cheshire as a whole.

“The conference will focus on what’s happening now, where the opportunities are, and how local businesses can play a part.

“We believe empowering our local business community is vital and this conference serves as a platform to amplify their voices and stay informed.”

The event begins with breakfast and networking, followed by the main discussion, lunch and the opportunity for further networking before ending 2pm.

Places are limited.
