The Dome Youth Zone has officially received the keys to its new £14 million facility on Oak Street, marking a major milestone in the creation of a dedicated space for thousands of young people across Crewe and the surrounding areas.
With the countdown now on to its opening late November, the charity is launching a major recruitment campaign, creating exciting new employment and volunteering opportunities for people in Crewe and the surrounding area.
The Dome is seeking passionate staff and volunteers to help bring the state-of-the-art Youth Zone to life, with current vacancies including a Head Chef and Sessional Youth Workers.
The new Youth Zone will not only create opportunities for young people; it will also create jobs in Crewe, providing local people with the chance to build careers and develop their skills as part of a major new community facility.
Further catering roles will be announced once The Dome has appointed its Head Chef, who will play a key role in shaping the catering team and the food offer for young people using the Youth Zone.
The charity is looking for people who share its vision of providing young people aged 8 to 19, and up to 25 for those with SEND, with somewhere safe to go, something positive to do and someone trusted to talk to.
The Dome will provide access to more than 20 activities, including sport, music, arts, sensory room, fitness and wellbeing, alongside trusted youth workers who can offer support, encouragement and guidance in a safe and welcoming environment.
Alongside recruiting paid staff, The Dome is also calling on local people to join its growing volunteer team. From supporting activities and mentoring young people to welcoming members and assisting at events, volunteers will play a vital role in creating the supportive and inspiring atmosphere that will make The Dome special.
The charity is aiming to deliver 530 hours of sessional youth work each month, ensuring young people benefit from a wide range of skills, experiences and positive role models from across the local community.
For successful candidates, joining The Dome now represents a unique opportunity to help shape how the Youth Zone operates from day one and influence the experience it provides for thousands of young people for years to come.
The recruitment campaign marks another significant step in bringing The Dome’s vision to life, creating employment and volunteering opportunities for local people while building a team dedicated to helping young people across Crewe and the surrounding area thrive.
Stuart Manifould, CEO of The Dome Youth Zone, said: “Getting the keys to The Dome is a huge moment for everyone involved, but our work doesn’t stop here. We’re now building the team who will bring this incredible building to life and, most importantly, create the relationships and experiences that will make a lasting difference to young people.
“The Dome is also creating exciting new employment opportunities here in Crewe. We’re looking for people who want more than just a job – people who want to be part of something that will have a lasting impact on the town and its young people.
“We’re not simply recruiting staff and volunteers, we’re building the team that will create opportunities, inspire ambition and help young people realise their potential every single day.
“Whether you’re an experienced youth worker, a catering professional, someone looking to develop their career, a skilled volunteer or someone who simply wants to play a part in something that will have a lasting impact on Crewe and the wider local area, we’d love to hear from you.
“This is an exciting time to join The Dome. You won’t just be taking on a job or volunteering your time, you’ll be helping to shape a Youth Zone from the ground up and play a part in changing lives, one activity at a time.”
The recruitment comes as The Dome moves into the final stages of preparation for opening, with staff recruitment and training taking place alongside the development of activities and programmes, volunteer onboarding and the launch of membership.

Further catering opportunities will be announced following the appointment of the Head Chef, who will lead the development of The Dome’s catering team.
