Last weekend’s Corner Clean Up has been hailed a big success after businesses and helpers turned out in force to give some TLC to their corner of town.

Businesses, volunteers and community leaders came together in an inspiring display of teamwork for a ‘clean up’ initiative aimed at breathing new life into Crewe’s High Street and Market Street.

The event was an overwhelming success, driven by a shared passion for restoring pride in the heart of the town.

More than 40 bags of rubbish were collected, including glass bottles, cigarette butts, tiles, cans, umbrellas, and much more, leaving the streets looking refreshed, revitalised, and full of promise.

Organisers say the transformation is already visible, and the atmosphere on the High Street has never felt more vibrant.

Meg from Ice and Fire and Carina from ABC Childcare Services expressed deep gratitude to their colleagues, neighbouring businesses and to everyone who rolled up their sleeves to make a difference.

“It was wonderful to see so many different people from across the community come together with one goal in mind, to better the streets for everyone who uses them and is part of them,” they said.

They praised fellow independent business owners on High Street and Market Street for their dedication and enthusiasm, emphasising that this initiative marks just the beginning of a long-term movement toward renewal and success.

“This is the start of something incredible,” they added. “We’re proud to be part of a community that believes in Crewe’s potential and is willing to work together to make it shine.”

The afternoon was filled with hope, laughter, camaraderie, and a powerful sense of accomplishment.

Visitors are encouraged to experience the rejuvenated High Street, a place buzzing with independent spirit and community pride.

Organisers thanked the Mayor of Crewe, Sally Graham, MP Connor Naismith, and the dedicated Crewe Clean Team for their invaluable support and participation.

Special thanks were also extended to Crewe Town Council for providing the equipment and supplies necessary to ensure a smooth and successful event, as well as for coordinating the collection of all the litter gathered on the day.
