After the incredible success of this year’s soapbox derby event — with more than 20 teams, thousands of cheering spectators, spectacular soapbox creations, and a town buzzing with excitement — Crewe Town Council is officially bringing Krazy Races back on Sunday 24 May 2026.

From wacky karts to hair-raising downhill action, Krazy Races has quickly become one of Crewe’s most loved family days out.

A council spokesperson said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to welcome Krazy Races to Crewe again in May 2026 after so many calls from residents and visitors to bring the event back. This event brings such a vibrant energy to the town, celebrating creativity, community spirit and good old-fashioned fun.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity for residents and visitors alike to come together and enjoy a truly unique day out. We can’t wait to see what wild and wonderful creations take to the track!”

Applications are now open for teams, sponsors and charities to be part of one of the most exciting events on Crewe’s 2026 calendar.

Organisers are looking for 20–40 teams from local businesses, schools, colleges, charities, and community groups to design, build, and race their own unique soapbox creations at Crewe Krazy Races.

Previous entrants have included Crewe Lyceum Theatre, AO, Crewe Heritage Centre and many others— and this year, we want to see even more teams join the fun.

Charities remain at the heart of Krazy Races. From today, local organisations can apply to be headline charity partners, using the event to raise vital funds and showcase their work to thousands. More details will be shared on the Krazy Races website and social media channels.

The much-loved course will once again run from Ford Lane, round the sharp Broad Street bend, through Brooklands, and across the finish line before Badger Avenue. The 2026 course will feature exciting new track enhancements, to build on 2025’s developments which included an “up-and-over” ramp, smoke effects, and added surprises.

Brooklands will once again be transformed into a vibrant event village, packed with food stalls, family entertainment, and a giant screen showing every twist, turn, and exciting moment.

Danny Scoffin, Head of Brand & Strategic Development for Krazy Races, added:
“Crewe made it clear — Krazy Races HAD to return! The atmosphere in 2025 was electric, and we can’t wait to top it in 2026.

“We want to give a huge thanks to the incredible team at Crewe Town Council for investing in our event and being amazing partners every step of the way for a third year. They do so much for Crewe, and as a resident myself, I’m delighted that we get to run this event in partnership with them for the amazing people of Crewe.

“Whether you’re a team, charity, or sponsor — now’s your chance to be part of Crewe’s biggest ever Krazy Races.”
