Leading figures from the world of academia, charity and TV will take to the stage for Her-Place Charitable Trust’s annual conference on Tuesday (October 21).
The women and girls charity, based in Crewe, is inviting charities, businesses and local organisations to be part of ‘Her Stories’ taking place at the Apollo Buckingham Health Science campus from 9.30am.
The event will offer an update on the charity’s campaigns including women in sport, the importance of young voices and women’s wellbeing in the workplace with panel discussions and conversation.
Key speakers will be Crewe’s Olympic BMX rider Shanaze Reade, Holmes Chapel’s Olympic rower Emily Ford, Manchester Metropolitan University Professor of Decent Work and Productivity Julia Rouse and Her-Place patron Ellie Leach, star of Strictly Come Dancing and Coronation Street.
Charity founder Kate Blakemore said: “Our Annual General Meeting is a chance for local charities, community groups, and partners to come together to share learning, build connections, and strengthen the support we can offer women and girls across our communities.
“We’ll hear from women at the very top of the game who will share their insights, experiences, and strategies for driving gender equality and social progress.
“We have put out the call to our community friends and hope as many people as possible will join us.
“It promises to be an inspiring and collaborative day.”
The charity, now 10 years old, is behind a great many initiatives to support woman and girls at every stage of life. For more on its work go to her-place.co.uk
