LS Gymnastics Crewe Academy celebrates GB selection

Gymnasts are jumping for joy after being selected to represent GB at the Europeans in Finland in October.

The youngsters are all part of LS Gymnastics Crewe Academy based at Apollo Buckingham Health Science Campus.

It is home to 1100 gymnasts who attend every week from the age of two to 67.

Spokeswoman Candy Lakin said: “We are a family run club which prides itself on grassroots gymnasts celebrating every achievement at all levels.

“One of the most amazing achievements of the year is to have 18 gymnasts and one coach selected to represent GB at the Europeans in Finland in October 2026

“This has happened on the back of the overwhelming success of our teams at the British final with over 70 gymnasts obtaining gold and silver medals.

“We can’t hold back the praise of the work ethic and love of gymnastics in the community.

“Crewe has a base of some of the most talented gymnasts and this is continuing through generations.”

It has also been home to the gold medal integrated disability British team for five years running

“We are so proud of all our gymnasts and we hope that the community continues to support the club as a base for integration at all levels and abilities.”

The club, based in the Apollo sports hall building, opened in November 2016.
