South Cheshire Chamber Business Awards set for spring opening
Business

South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce has confirmed its flagship awards programme will open earlier than in previous years, giving companies more time to prepare submissions and showcase their achievements.
The annual awards, now in their 29th year, celebrate excellence across the local business community, recognising innovation, growth, sustainability and outstanding contribution to the regional economy.
This year the entry process will begin in April – three months earlier than usual – giving more businesses and organisations the opportunity to take stock, reflect on their successes and share in the excitement in the run up to the big night at Crewe Hall & Spa in November.
Chamber Chief Executive Paul Colman said: “For 29 remarkable years, these awards have not only celebrated excellence but have inspired bold ideas, new partnerships, and courageous leadership across our community.
“Putting yourself forward is a powerful way to reflect on what your business has achieved and to gain external recognition. Even being shortlisted can raise profile, boost staff morale and open the door to new connections.
“With all that said, we know how busy businesses are and by opening the entry process earlier more businesses and organisations will have a fair opportunity to take part.”
Awards will be handed out in 11 different categories:
– Ambassador of the Year
– Apprentice of the Year
– Business of the Year
– Contribution to the Community (Business and Charity)
– Employer of the Year
– Excellence in Collaboration
– Excellence in Customer Service
– International Trader of the Year
– Small Business of the Year
– Start-up Business of the Year
The awards take place at Crewe Hall Hotel & Spa on Friday, November 13 – when there will be many hoping to strike lucky as Start Up business winner Maintain Independence in Nantwich did last year.
Owner Zoe Robson, a musculoskeletal specialist helping local people regain mobility and live pain free, founded the business two years ago after a career in the military police.
The mum-of-two, who served in Iraq, Germany, Poland and Kuwait, also takes pride in supporting veterans from across the country.
She said: “Winning the award has been incredibly meaningful. I started the business after recognising a real gap in specialist rehabilitation and neurological support locally, and now, in our second year, the award validates that we’ve built a strong, values-led foundation.
“It reflects not only the quality of our services but also the trust our clients place in us.”
Zoe, from Crewe, followed in family footsteps. Her mum Eileen Williams tasted success twice with her event management business, winning awards for international trade and community impact in 2009 and 2011.
Now Zoe, who has the Start Up award displayed in her clinic, added: “So many people comment on the award. We’re very proud of what it represents – credibility, community impact and a commitment to helping people maintain their independence at every stage of life.”
Several big names are already confirmed as award sponsors but opportunities do remain to get behind the night.
