Taylor Wimpey North West has donated £250 to CreweCreates CIC to help the organisation continue making arts and creative activities in the town.

The funding was awarded through Taylor Wimpey’s Community Chest initiative, which invited members of the public to vote for a local organisation they would like the housebuilder to support.

Launched in 2023, CreweCreates is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company whose mission is to spark creativity, support artists and help grow the town’s cultural and creative economy through hands-on creative programmes and public events.

Its activities includes PLATFORM, Crewe’s first art gallery, which hosts exhibitions, drop-in workshops and artist residencies. CreweCreates also supports community groups to organise cultural celebrations through its Town of Festivals programme. The organisation runs SIGNALBOX, a performance space in the town centre, alongside SIGNALBOX Sounds, its DJ school.

Jamie Chalmers, Director of CreweCreates CIC, said: “We’re grateful to Taylor Wimpey for its Community Chest donation, as it allows us to provide free activities to the families of Crewe.

“Every Saturday, we offer artist-led sessions allowing attendees to enjoy the pleasure of making and discovering new skills. There’s nothing better than exploring arts and crafts with the people you love, and Taylor Wimpey has empowered us to deliver more of that creative joy.”

Amy Bold, Marketing Manager at Taylor Wimpey North West, said: “CreweCreates is doing fantastic work to make arts and creativity more accessible, while providing opportunities for people to discover new interests and connect with Crewe’s creative community.

“We’re delighted that local people chose CreweCreates to receive our Community Chest donation. We hope the donation will help the group continue its valuable work and enable more people to experience the enjoyment creativity can bring.”
