Get set for Crewe’s Summer Festival of Fun
Lifestyle & Leisure

Crewe Town Council has unveiled a packed school holiday events programme which returns for a fourth year, featuring over 180 free activities.
The Summer Festival of Fun is the new name for the Operation Summer programme, and the line-up is bigger and better than ever. The aim is to provide Crewe families with fun, varied and quality activities and help to reduce the financial burden of the summer holidays for parents and carers.
This year, visit the Discover Crewe-on-Sea pop-up beach and play in the sand, learn about digital art and animation, immerse yourself in outdoor theatre productions at Queens Park…and so much more, with opportunities to get involved in drama, crafts, science, sports, nature and wildlife!
All of the activities are free to access for family sessions. A small number of activities at Crewe Library require attendees to book. For each event, children need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.
The schedule, running from July 22 to August 31, is being delivered by Crewe Town Council and will take place at various community locations:
- Crewe Library
- Crewe Heritage Centre
- Lyceum Square
- Wishing Well Children and Families Hub, Chester Bridge
- Crewe Makes Art Space on Victoria Street
- Christ Church
- Local parks (including family fun days in Queens Park)
Crewe Town Council is working with Crewe’s Business Improvement District to bring the Discover Crewe-on-Sea pop up beach to Lyceum Square over the August Bank Holiday weekend. Visitors can play in the sand, chill in deckchairs and have lots of hands-on seaside fun!
The council has also funded Street Sports and Pop Up in the Parks projects to encourage young people to spend more time out of doors, have fun in a safe space and be more active. These sessions will run throughout the school summer holidays in local parks and are delivered in partnership with local organisations Everybody Health & Leisure and The Wishing Well.
The Lunch Crewe project is delivered in school holidays by St Peter’s and St Andrew’s Churches, also with funding from Crewe Town Council. All are welcome to attend the sessions to play and have a FREE lunch! Sessions run at both churches throughout the holiday period, see our webpage for full details.
The full programme of activities can be accessed via the Crewe Town Council Summer Festival of Fun webpage.
