A recruitment drive is underway as The Dome Youth Zone takes shape in Crewe.
The £14 million ultra-modern youth facility opening later this year on the former Oak Street car-park will create up to 70 full and part-time roles.
Officials have announced a recruitment event taking place at Crewe Market Hall on May 15 from 9.30am to 1.30pm.
Work is nearly finished on the Dome in the town centre, with the building watertight and internal works set to begin.
The Dome is run by a charity and is part of the national OnSide network of youth centres.
A spokesman said: “Opening in winter 2026, The Dome will be a £14m state-of-the-art Youth Zone in Crewe that will deliver life-changing support to thousands of young people.
“At its heart will be a team of dedicated, skilled youth workers who truly believe in young people, helping them discover their potential and build their confidence, ambition, and skills.
“As a local charity, it will inspire, support and empower Crewe’s next generation.
“The Youth Zone will combine state-of-the-art facilities with professional support from trained youth workers.
“Offering over 20 activities every session, including sports, arts, culture and creation, The Dome will be open every evening, weekend and school holiday to support young people to explore where their potential can take them.
“Affordable and accessible, the Youth Zone is supported by local businesses and philanthropists who share their vision of bringing first-class youth provision to Crewe, and partners with the local Council and other local youth organisations.”
The Dome is backed by expertise and data from national charity OnSide, whose Network of Youth Zones provides opportunities and youth work for over 60,000 young people nationally.
“We are looking for people who want to be part of something that genuinely changes lives. If you’re someone who enjoys working with people, wants to contribute to a positive environment for young people and is motivated by purpose as well as career development The Dome could be the right place for you.”
There will be two recruitment sessions at the Market Hall starting at 9.30 and 11.30am.
Kelly Prince, Head of Youth Work, added: “Finding the right people is incredibly important to us, because our team has the chance to positively shape young people’s lives. Our recruitment event is about speaking to those who truly care about young people and are excited to be part of something special for Crewe.”
