A major new conference focused on the regeneration and future growth of Crewe and the wider South Cheshire area is set to launch in April.
Organised by South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, The Future of Crewe – Unlocking Crewe and South Cheshire’s Potential, will create a dedicated space for conversation about ongoing transformation – examining the progress already being made, the challenges still to be tackled, and the opportunities available for local businesses to play a central role in shaping what’s next.
The conference takes place at Crewe Hall on April 29, bringing together business leaders, decision-makers and local voices to discuss what lies ahead for the area.
It is open to all local businesses and members of the community.
High-profile speakers already lined up include Graham McKnight, Lyceum Theatre director and Chair of Crewe’s bid for UK Town of Culture and Russ Favager and Chris Knights of Mid Cheshire Hospitals Trust with an update on the £1.5bn new Leighton Hospital development.
Also speaking will be Jonny Haseldine, Head of Corporate Governance & Business Environment Policy at the British Chambers, bringing five years of parliamentary experience and a strong private sector background to the conference.
Chamber Chief Executive Paul Colman said: “For the first time, South Cheshire Chamber is creating a dedicated space to talk about the regeneration of Crewe and South Cheshire as a whole.
“The conference will focus on what’s happening now, where the opportunities are, and how local businesses can play a part.”
Discussion will focus on challenges, progress and long-term future plans. Mr Colman added: “In terms of Crewe, the town’s reputation has taken some setbacks but this event offers an opportunity for constructive discussion at an exciting time.
“The Dome Youth Zone, Cheshire Archives Centre and South Gateway are taking shape right before us.
“Now is the time to be part of a growing conversation about the future of Crewe.”
Taking place from 9am to 1.30pm, the event will begin with breakfast and networking, followed by the main discussion, and ends with lunch and the opportunity for further networking.
