Pub manager is back to her roots at the new Wetherspoons

Crewe mum-of-two Vicky Dixon is back to her roots as manager of the new JD Wetherspoon pub at Woolstanwood.

And it’s all systems go as The Marshfield Bank Farm House prepares to open its doors tomorrow (Tuesday).

Vicky will be a familiar face to many customers of the former Gaffers Row Wetherspoon pub in Crewe town centre.

She began her hospitality career there as a member of the bar team before moving to The Hippodrome in Market Drayton after its closure.

“It’s lovely to be back in my home town and I can’t wait to welcome customers old and new, said Vicky. “Staff are from the local area and we’re working flat out to welcome everyone on Tuesday.”

One Crewe had an exclusive peak behind the scenes of the new venue.

Local heritage has influenced the rustic design which takes inspiration from the traditional character of a farmhouse and working agricultural setting with use of natural materials.

Outside the landscaped gardens are looking floral and lush with a major planting scheme taking shape. And work hasn’t stopped despite downpours.

There’s loads of seating inside and out and relaxed mood lighting.

It’s been a £1.5million development project to transform the former Beefeater pub/restaurant in Coppenhall Lane.

Response to the new venue has been positive online although some have questioned the location being out of town.

She added: “We are surrounded by homes and places of work and have a fantastic menu which will support the pub as a food destination from 7am onwards.

“Myself and my team are looking forward to welcoming customers into The Marshfield Bank Farm House and we are confident that the pub will be a great addition to the local social scene.”

The Marshfield Bank Farm House pub will be open from 7am until 12midnight Sunday to Thursday and 7am until 1am Friday and Saturday.

Food will be served throughout the day, from opening until 11pm every day.

The pub has created 70 new jobs.
