Fire and Ice Ball raises £15,000 for Wishing Well Crewe
Lifestyle & Leisure

Over 150 guests enjoyed an evening of fire breathers, stilt walkers, casino tables and live music in support of Crewe-based charity The Wishing Well.
The Fire and Ice Ball, hosted by friends Claire Smith of Evolve Together and Victoria Graham of Training ByteSize, raised £15,000 after an evening of glamour and generosity.
Guests were welcomed into the Abbey’s glasshouse with cocktails, accompanied by a live saxophonist, while stilt walkers and fire breathers set the tone for the evening ahead.
The main room was transformed for the occasion, with giant FIRE and ICE letters, stunning table decor and a bespoke Fire and Ice branded vodka luge. Casino tables kept guests entertained and an amazing live band kept the party going.
The evening was made possible by huge support from local businesses, who generously donated prizes for the raffle and auction.
The event was also generously supported by its sponsors, Healthshield and Seaking Group.
Claire and Victoria said: “We wanted to create a night that people would be talking about for a long time, and to raise as much as we could for a charity that means so much to so many families. We’re incredibly grateful to every guest who joined us and to the local businesses who donated prizes, because without them we couldn’t have reached £15,000.”
The Wishing Well is charity dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of local people. Through its Start Well, Live Well and Age Well programmes, it supports children, young people, families and older people at every stage of life, from building confidence and independence to tackling loneliness with activities, meals and companionship. Its Eat Well service delivers around 140 freshly prepared meals each day.
The money raised will help The Wishing Well continue this work, creating safe spaces, reducing isolation and making sure local people have somewhere to turn when they need support.
The team at Wishing Well were blown away by the whole event.
Jan Melia, Chief Partnership Officer, Wishing Well said: “From that very first conversation and connection with Claire Smith and Victoria Graham, to seeing their belief in our cause grow into something so incredibly special, it’s been an absolute privilege to be part of this journey.
“When the incredible amount raised was announced, I had a real bottom lip wobble. To think that one evening, filled with so much kindness, generosity and belief, could make such a difference to our charity and the communities we support is genuinely overwhelming. What started with a conversation became something truly unforgettable, and we will always be grateful.”
Claire and Victoria would also like to give special thanks to: Moodys Jewellers Nantwich, Rye Bank Adventures, Johnson’s Printers, Halcion Express, Front Guy Gary, Portal Broking Group, Uplit Event Hire, Maverick Live and AMW.Visuals.
